Welcome to the website of the Scandinavian-Baltic Society for Parasitology
We are an active international society that promotes research and education in parasitology. SBSP was founded in 2003 by fusion of Scandinavian Society for Parasitology (est. 1967 in Denmark) and Baltic Society for Parasitology (est. 1993). The eight countries of our region are all represented in the board, and we have active members from all around the world. We organize an international congress (CSBSP) every second year, and hosted a wonderful EMOP XII in 2016. We are a member of WFP and EFP.
We are one of the two ICOPA XV 2022 finalists!
Together with the Danish Society for Parasitology (DSP), SBSP is bidding to host the next ICOPA in 2022 in Copenhagen, Denmark. We think it would be awesome to have the next ICOPA in Europe!
Our bid is one of the two finalists. At ICOPA XIV 2018 in Daegu in August, there will be a ballot vote by the Council of World Federation of Parasitologists, which consists of representatives of all registered member societies.
How to join, how to renew your membership?
Our society is open to all who are interested in parasitology. In order to join or to renew your membership, please click the ‘MEMBERSHIP’ button above and follow the instructions. We welcome you as a member, we value you as a member!
The direct benefits of being a member include being part of a wonderful society and network, reduced registration fee to CSBSPs and possibility to apply for SBSP grants.
